BEFORE WE BEGIN

Download the universal ADB drivers from our USB drivers and ADB drivers download page. Try installing the Samsung USB Drivers if the ADB driver doesn’t work for your device. You can find both options available from the same page.
You can only follow this guide to root Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 on a Windows computer. All other operating systems will not load the flashing tool and thus make the guide ineffective.
Make sure you have the Developer Options enabled by tapping over the build number seven times from the About Device menu. It will let you know when it’s unlocked.
Check the USB Debugging Mode option is enabled from the Developer Options menu by heading to the Settings > Developer Options and searching for the USB Debugging box.

HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S2 ON ANDROID 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP

Download the custom kernel from this link.
Download the CF-Root package from the S2 SM-T810 from this link.
Next, click this link to download the Odin flashing tool.
Shift all three files over to the desktop of your computer.
Right-click over the files and choose the “extract here” option from the menu.
Run the Odin flashing tool by double-click over that executable file.
Reboot your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in download mode.
Connect the Tab S2 to the computer using the USB cable.
Wait until you see the ID: COM port change colors so you know the drivers are working.
Click the AP/PDA button and upload the custom kernel.
Click the Start button and flash that custom kernel.
Click the AP/PDA button on your Odin user-interface and browse the desktop for the executable Cf-Auto-Root file.
Leave the default settings as they already are in the Odin user-interface.
Double-check the re-partition box is left empty because you do not want to re-partition your drive.
Click the Start button and wait until you see a pass message from the Odin user-interface.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 should automatically reboot since the Auto reboot option was left checked in the default settings. However if your device does not automatically reboot, you should reboot it manually before doing anything else.

Once the device is rebooted, head to your app drawer and check if you can see the SuperSU app. This app usually is installed by default on your device after rooting with the CF-Root tool. If you cannot see it there, head to the Google Play Store and download the SuperSU app by Chainfire.
